Geoff Murphy began his career as a biological scientist, eventually earning a doctorate at London University. He too decided upon a career change and retrained as a physiotherapist in 1988 at Leeds General Infirmary. He subsequently held several NHS posts before becoming a lecturer to physiotherapy students in Glasgow and UEA, Norwich. He returned to clinical practice and is now associated with the Orthopaedic Service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, working as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in spinal care. He supports his wife Jo in the clinical and day to day running of Murphy Physiotherapy.
